Driving Agricultural Innovation: How MCODE’s Collaborations Are Shaping Tanzania’s Future

Tanzania’s agricultural landscape is undergoing a transformation thanks to the innovative collaborations spearheaded by the Movement for Community Development (MCODE). By partnering with various organizations, MCODE is driving advancements in farming practices, financial access, and market opportunities.

In recent years, MCODE has joined forces with entities like PASS Trust and Equity Bank to empower smallholder farmers and agribusinesses. These partnerships focus on providing financial resources, technical training, and market linkages, which are crucial for modernizing agriculture in Tanzania.

Through these collaborations, MCODE has introduced new technologies and farming techniques, supported by financial institutions that offer tailored solutions to meet the needs of farmers. As a result, agricultural productivity is on the rise, and farmers are experiencing improved livelihoods.

The surveys will continue to run until 30 April 2021, but this first snapshot of results shows the swift work of colleges and universities in moving learning online has been predominantly well received by students.

Among those surveyed, 81% were studying online, 72% of them from home.

Both higher education and further education students surveyed noted the huge benefits of flexible learning, with lecture recordings proving helpful for note-taking and scheduling learning around other aspects of life. Some students enjoy the comfort and convenience of studying at home, as well as feeling more in control.

“Innovation is at the core of what we do. Our partnerships enable us to bring cutting-edge solutions to Tanzanian farmers, transforming the agricultural sector from the ground up.”
— MCODE Representative

MCODE’s commitment to innovation and collaboration is setting the stage for a more prosperous future for Tanzania’s agriculture, proving that when organizations work together, great things can be achieved.
